Who We Are
ForgeFX is a collection of creative, technical, talented, and dedicated simulation software developers. We have been working together as a team for more than 10 years and bring a wealth of experience and skill to every project we work on.
ForgeFX Leadership
Greg Meyers and Adam Kane first teamed up together in 1996 while working as programmers at Red Sky Interactive in San Francisco. This Internet Advertising Agency was a pioneer during the dot com boom in developing award winning and cutting edge interactive web sites and CDs. Adam Kane and Greg Meyers got together with David Vaillancourt in 1999 when they went to work for an Austin, Texas based company, Human Code at their San Rafael office in California. David was working as a 3D modeler and animator in the CDROM game department. Greg Meyers became the new Director of Technology for the Internet Development Department while Adam Kane became the studio's Lead Programmer. Human Code was acquired by Boston based Sapient, where they helped add multimedia application development to the company's offerings. Soon after the acquisition, Adam, Dave, and Greg left to start ForgeFX - a company dedicated to the development of 3D training simulation software.

ADAM KANE
Technical Director

|
|
In addition to his solid technical foundation, Adam has a powerful creative vision for interactive computer technology. Interactive computer simulations are computer programs that replicate real-world situations. Done properly, they embody the concept of "learning by doing." As such, their impact is six-fold: they educate, they train, they build relationships between the user and the subject of the simulation, they allow trial and error, they evoke powerful emotions only possible through direct experience and they ultimately increase profit. An interactive digital simulation's no-loss environment provides valuable direct experience that cannot be delivered through any other medium. Direct experience is the key.
For more than 20 years, Adam has been coding, leading teams, and delivering custom software products to major clients. Adam began his formal development as a computer programmer by maintaining UC Berkeley's Hass Media Lab. As early as 1994, Adam developed websites on a precursor to the modern Internet. After graduating from Berkeley, Adam catapulted across the bay and into San Francisco's dot com boom. Working for award-winning development studios, Adam honed his technical skills at breakneck pace, delivering projects against tight deadlines, on time, on budget and to the specifications of major clients. These clients include Adobe, Intel, Microsoft, Toshiba, Nike, Absolut, LeapFrog, Pearson Education, Pfizer, Farmers Insurance, and Miller Beer. After helping to champion the Rich Media Groups at Human Code and Sapient, Adam emerged as a fully-forged technical team leader. In 2001, Adam, Greg Meyers and Dave Vaillancourt broke off to start their own company, where Adam found his niche as Co-Founding Partner and Technical Director at ForgeFX. Since 2002 Adam has managed software projects for industry leaders such as Prentice Hall in education, Global Ground Support in airlines, and Farmers in insurance, as well as for non-profits such as Heifer International.

DAVID VAILLANCOURT
Creative Director

|
|
David is both a skilled artist himself as well as being a highly effective manager of his team. He is a great 3D modeler, animator and all around art producing machine. After completing his fine arts degree from Cal Poly he was hired by Human Code in San Rafael California to work on a variety of CDROM titles for Lego, Disney, Intel, Broderbund, and Macromedia. Dave has spent his professional career mastering and working with the industry standard 3D tools of today. Partnering with Macromedia since the Human Code days, Dave has been on the inside track of asset production for real-time web-based 3D technology available through the combination of Discreet's 3D Studio Max and Macromedia's Director, or any of the other popular web-based 3D delivery mechanisms. Every project that ForgeFX works on gets Dave's special touch and never ending attention to detail.
